Over the last four years, The Haven Shelter & Services has taken the opportunity at our Community Awards Luncheon held in October (Domestic Violence Awareness Month) to celebrate our volunteers, community allies, and staff whose dedication and commitment have made our important work possible. We are honored to present to the Katherine Farmar Service Award at this year’s event to Roxanne Norris and the Oak Leaf Award to the Uptown Quilt Guild in recognition of their continued support for our mission and advocacy and to thank them for being an integral part of the foundation of The Haven.
The recipient of the Katherine Farmar Service Award is nominated and selected by The Haven staff to honor an individual who has shown a commitment to the work and mission of our organization. Specifically, we honor someone who over the years has given back to the community we serve through gifts of time and talent in honor of the unwavering support of The Haven that Mrs. Farmar gave as a founding Board member and volunteer.
The recipient of the Oak Leaf Award is nominated and selected by The Haven staff to honor someone who has shown a commitment to the work and mission of our organization. Specifically, we honor community allies who have worked collaboratively with us and/or our program participants and promoted our mission of preventing and eliminating sexual and domestic violence within the Northern Neck and Essex County.
Join us as we honor Roxanne Norris, the Uptown Quilt Guild, and volunteers who have excelled in their commitment to our organization on Thursday, October 24 from 11:30am-2pm at Rappahannock Church of Christ’s Multipurpose Room located at 4324 Richmond Road in Warsaw.
